Do You Know What A Hog's Best Sense Is?

Photo: Big Boar @PigProblem

They encountered warm weather and shifting winds while Hunting. They managed to take down a Big Boar. However, there were a few instances where we were winded during our Stalks. For those who may not understand, being winded refers to a situation where the wind changes direction while we're approaching the Hogs, and they are able to pick up our scent. Unlike most animals, Wild Hogs don’t have night vision, their eyes are similar to humans. However, their sense of smell is incredibly strong and they can detect scents from miles away. Feral Hogs possess an extremely well developed sense of smell; in fact, smell is a Hog's best sense. They rely heavily on it to detect danger and seek out food. They can smell some odors 5-7 miles away and can detect odors as many as 25 feet underground!

Freedom

Photo: America, 4th Of July, Freedom, @pigprobleminc.

On this 4th of July, as we gather to celebrate and commemorate, we are reminded of the fundamental concept of freedom that lies at the very heart of this occasion. Independence Day is a cherished time to reflect on the courage and determination of our founding fathers, who fought for liberty and justice for all. It is a day to honor the countless sacrifices made by heroes who embodied the spirit of freedom, ensuring that future generations could enjoy the blessings of liberty. As fireworks light up the night sky and the stars and stripes proudly wave, we are reminded of the precious gift of freedom that defines our great nation. Today, we celebrate the power, resilience, and enduring spirit of America, rejoicing in the ideals that unite us and reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding and cherishing the freedom we hold dear.

Our guide Clayton was able to take these two pilots out of the plane for a day to enjoy some South Georgia Thermal Hunting with Pig Problem Inc. It was a rainy, foggy, muddy night, but it didnt’t stop these guys from laying these Hogs down. Of course they didn’t have rain gear with them, becasuse normally in a plane you fly over the storm. After giving the pilots a tour of the farm land, I think guide Clayton wants a tour of the sky now. These guys definitely enjoyed the Wild Hog Hunting for a change of scenery. Come out to Americus, Ga and lets see how many Wild Hogs you can get Thermal Hunting.
