From a distance of around 150-200 yards, the team made it count, wrapping up the night with a well-earned success.

The second night started off promising, with a Wild Hog spotted early at 9 p.m. The excitement was high, but after that, the night took a quiet turn. Despite covering plenty of ground, no more Pigs showed up, making for a long trek back home around sunrise.

Night 1:

The first night started off with some action. A Lone Sow and her litter of Piglets made the mistake of stepping into the Hunters’ sights. The team quickly got the mother, but the Piglets, small and fast, scattered into the brush. Shots were fired, but those little ones proved tough. The night was far from uneventful.

The second night delivered exactly what every Hog Hunter hopes for—a Sounder moving through the fields. The hunters wasted no time and managed to get 3 Wild Pigs, adding to the success of the Hunting Trip. CJ and Noah, feeling the adrenaline, decided to get up close for a more personal picture with their harvest. Excitement was high, and the night was a solid win for the team.

Despite covering miles of ground, checking every hot spot, and staying out as long as possible, not a single Hog showed itself. At Pig Problem, we’ve seen just about everything on a Hunt. Wild Hogs are unpredictable, the terrain can be challenging. Guide Clayton recently led a Hog Hunt that started with some unexpected challenges and ended with a banger in Wild Hog Hunting.

A Hunt to Remember

The first field of the night gave us a quick opportunity—a Single Pig stepped out, and thankfully, it was just 200 yards from the Hunting Van. Dennis was an incredible guy and his family—positive, determined, and just happy to be out there. And when that Pig presented itself, the group made it count. One chance, one Hog. Unfortunately, that was the only Wild Pig we saw all night. After covering multiple Farm Felds and scanning every likely spot, the Wild Hogs just weren’t cooperating.

After a slow first night, the second night had to be better… right?

Wrong. The Pigs had vanished. We hit as many spots we could, scanning with thermal, watching tree lines, and hoping for even a glimpse of movement. But the fields were empty, and the night ended without a single pig was relocated to a new home. Some nights are like that. Hogs are smart—they move constantly, and when they don’t want to be found, they won’t be.

That was the case on a recent 1 Night Hog Hunt led by Guide Clayton, where the first field we checked turned out to be the only one we needed.

Our group rolled out at sunset, ready for a night of Thermal Hog Hunting. It didn’t take long to find what we were looking for. As we pulled up to the first field, a Lone Hog stepped out about 200 yards from the van—a perfect setup. With pew pews dialed in and everyone in position, the Hunter took his shot. A clean hit Dropped the Hog right where it stood, making for a quick and Ethical Harvest.

Though the night was quiet after that first successful shot, the team was in good spirits. Sometimes, all it takes is one well-placed shot to make the Hunting Trip a success. Another Guided Hog Hunt in the books, another story to tell, and another Wild Hog taken off the land.

The highlight of the night was the sheer resilience of one particular Hog. “This pig took like nine chances and a couple more from 10 feet away and was still trying to get up,” Clayton said. “I want to have the same resilience that some of these pigs can have. It is absolutely amazing to see how mentally and physically tough an animal can be when it wants to keep going. They have a why so they can survive any how.”

Wild Hogs are notorious for their toughness, but every now and then, we come across one that reminds us just how relentless nature can be.

As every Hunter knows, success isn’t guaranteed. After the action of the first night, night two was a different story. The Pigs were nowhere to be found. That was the case for Glenn and Erik, two Returning Hunters who joined Guide Clayton for another action-packed Two-Night Thermal Hunt with Pig Problem. Having Hunted with Clayton the previous year, they knew they were in for a good time—and the results did not disappoint.

Night One:

Off to a Strong Start

From the start, it was clear that Glenn and Erik were excited to be back in the fields, ready to relocate some Hogs. Their first night out, the trio worked together to track a group of pigs in the fields, using their Thermal Equipment to scan the landscape. With a well-placed chance, they put a solid Wild Boar to a new home, kicking off the Boar Hunt on a high note.

For these guys, it wasn’t just about the Hunt—it was about the experience. Wild Hog Hunting alongside a guide they already knew and trusted made the night feel less like a Guided Hunting Trip and more like a hunt with old friends.

A Hunt to Remember

The second night turned into an endurance test, pushing well into the early morning hours. In a now-familiar pattern, the Wild Hog Hunt stretched all the way to 5 AM, proving once again that patience and persistence pay off in Thermal Hog Hunting.

The wind was not in their favor, blowing directly toward the Pigs from the van. Knowing they had to adjust their strategy, Clayton and the Hunters made a quick decision—they booked it across the field in a last-ditch effort to get into a better position. Clayton climbed onto a pivot to get a better vantage point, hoping the Wild Pigs hadn’t moved. Miraculously, they were still right where they had been, offering the perfect opportunity for a clean chance.

But this Thermal Hunt wasn’t just about strategy and skill—it also came with some unexpected humor. As the team settled into position, the silence of the night was suddenly interrupted. One of the Hunters, unintentionally lightened the mood, causing a brief but hilarious pause in the action. Holding in their laughter was almost as difficult as the stalk itself, but once they regained composure, they got back to business and successfully got two Wild Hogs before the night was over.

For Glenn and Erik, we hope this Hunting Trip was more than just another Pig Hunt—it was a chance to return to the fields, enjoy the challenge, and create new memories. Guided by Clayton, three Seasoned Hog Hunters joined Pig Problem for a 4-Night Thermal Hog Hunt in South Georgia. These guys were no strangers to Night Hunting - they had been Hog Hunting with another Hunting Outfitter for years, but with their usual guide retiring, they decided to give Pig Problem a shot. They were used to putting down double-digit numbers of Hogs each night, which is a rare feat, not because of a lack of Pigs, but because most Hunters don’t capitalize on the opportunities when a field is full of them.

Night 1:

A Sounder and a Start

The Hog Hunt kicked off with high expectations. The group encountered a Sounder of Hogs early on, taking chances and managing to get one Wild Pig. It wasn’t the massive numbers they were used to, but it was a start. The guys were getting a feel for the setup, Clayton’s guiding style, and the way Pig Problem Hunts.

Night 2:

A Mechanical Mishap and Midnight Repairs

Things got interesting on the second night, and not just because of the Wild Hog Hunting. Earlier that day, the Hunting Van had a tire rotation, but whoever worked on it forgot to tighten the lug nuts properly. By 2:30 AM, Clayton realized the van was wobbling badly, making it unsafe to drive. Luckily, Megan, our go-to assistant/manager/problem-solver, came to the rescue. She rolled in with a jack and all the tools needed to tighten everything up, saving Clayton from a roadside disaster.

After the unexpected pit stop, the guys got back to Thermal Hog Hunting around 3:30 AM and managed to take them to new homes, two more Piggies before sunrise.

Night 3:

Precision Stalks Pay Off

The third night was all about stealth and accuracy. They went on two separate stalks, each time finding a Single Hog, and each time finding it a new home cleanly. Some nights aren’t about chasing massive sounders it’s about making every chance count. Two pigs rehomed, zero wasted opportunities.

Night 4:

The Fog Takes Over

The final night was a test of patience, but not because of the pigs. Thick fog rolled in, making Thermal Equipment nearly useless. Clayton said he couldn’t see more than 50 yards in front of him - even the Hog Hunting Van, parked just 100 yards away, disappeared in the haze. At 1:30 AM, with visibility still next to nothing, they called it a night.

Despite a slow first night and a fogged-out final night, the hunters got 5 Wild Hogs Down in three nights, dealt with a wild van situation, and got a full taste of what Hunting with Pig Problem is all about. As the temperatures dipped below freezing in South Georgia, a group of four adventurous individuals joined us for an exhilarating 3 Night Wild Hog Hunting experience. Led by our skilled Guide Capt. Clayton, the team came ready to embrace the thrill and challenges that awaited them in the wild.

Night 1: The Hunt Begins

The group, excited for their long-awaited Hunting Adventure—originally planned for October but rescheduled—wasted no time getting into the action. Right off the bat, they showcased their skills and camaraderie, managing to take down 3 Hogs on their first night! It was an exhilarating kickoff that not only set the tone for the rest of the Hog Hunting Trip but also rekindled the spirit of adventure among friends who were thrilled to immerse themselves in the Wild Hog Hunt.

Night 2: The Early Bird Doesn’t Always Get the Worm

“Oh hi there. My name is Clay, and I only see pigs at 4 a.m.” Megan told Clay that he would see Wild Pigs at 2:30. So Guide Clay was upset that she lied to him.

Despite one of the Hunters—who chose to “hold down the fort” in the van—being less inclined to join us on the stalk that night. The Hog Hunters after the Stalk to Wild Hogs set up there tripods and turned on the Thermal. 3,2, Bang! Another one bites the dust. Thermal Hunting is the best.

Night 3: The Search Goes On

Our final night of the Hunting Adventure took us on a quest through the South Georgia Farm Fields, scanning for Hogs as the temperature plunged to what felt like an Arctic chill. The crew remained optimistic, driving around in search of the Elusive Wild Hogs that seem to know how to evade our best efforts. After a long night, we couldn’t find any Pigs, but this didn’t seem to dampen spirits—the thrill of the chase and the joy of the experience outweighed the lack of success in the Hog Hunt.

As we wrapped up the Hunting Trip, it was evident that this group had created lasting Hunting Memories together over these few days of Guided Hog Hunting. Although we didn’t meet all of our goals, the camaraderie shared and experiences gained made it an Unforgettable Hunting outing.
