Two Nights of Hog Hunting with Peanut Protector, Guide Capt. Clayton

At Pig Problem, the team embraces the wild, unpredictable, and downright hilarious adventures that come with Hog Hunting. Recently, Guide Capt. Clayton, affectionately known as the Peanut Protector, had the pleasure of leading a fantastic group on a 2 Night Hog Hunting excursion, filled with unforgettable stories and plenty of laughter.

Night 1: Old Friends and New Adventures

Reuniting with familiar faces is always a treat in the Hunting world. On this trip, Andy and John returned after successfully Wild Hog Hunting with Pig Problem Inc two years ago. With excitement in the air, the Hog Hunt began.

Early in the night, the group spotted a small hog lounging in a peanut field, surrounded by a curious gathering of deer. The evening appeared to be brimming with potential!

As they carefully moved through the flipped peanut field, Andy and John found a good vantage point. After taking aim, they took two shots, successfully dropping the Hog. However, the excitement didn’t end there; as the group approached the Wild Hog, they realized it was still alive. In a great show of teamwork, Andy handed over his SIG P322 pistol, equipped with a suppressor and TLR8, to Capt. Clayton for the final dispatch, turning a tense moment into a shared experience.

Although the rest of the night was quieter—only spotting a few deer—the camaraderie on the Hunt kept spirits high. One particularly amusing instance was Andy’s unique countdown method whenever he prepared to take a shot. While our guides count down “3, 2, BANG,” Andy preferred “3, 2, Big Titties.” Capt. Clayton couldn’t help but chuckle at Andy's seriousness whenever he expressed this countdown style on the range.

Night 2: A Little Bit of Chaos

If Night 1 was memorable, Night 2 was nothing short of exhilarating. The group kicked off the night with the excitement of taking down 2 Wild Hogs and a Coyote .

Capt. Clayton quickly spotted a single Pig early in the night, but as they began their stalk, a deer started snorting loudly, spooking the Wild Pig back into the safety of the trees. Capt. Clayton humorously reflected on the situation, imagining himself choking out a deer right on the spot—a testament to his frustration with deer as the second least favorite animal to encounter at night. Number one on that list? Birds—Capt. Clayton had no love for birds either.

After a long stretch of quiet, the nighttime adventure picked up again around 2 AM, and the team had a solid opportunity to take aim at (another) coyote, resulting in a successful shot.

A Memorable Experience

While the first night had its challenges, the laughter and camaraderie made everything worthwhile. Each Wild Hog Hunt brings unique obstacles and surprises, and it’s often the unexpected moments—like deer creating chaos—that create the Best Hunting Memories.

As the Two-Night Hunting Adventure came to a close, the team expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share their passion for Nighttime Hunting with a group excited to embrace the wild experiences that come with it. Every adventure brings everyone closer together, creating unforgettable stories to cherish.

Thanks to Andy and John who joined Capt. Clayton on this Two-Night Hunting Trip. The crew at Pig Problem Inc is already looking forward to their next round in the field. For those interested in embarking on their own Thermal Hog Hunting adventure, reaching out to Pig Problem is a must—who knows what memories may lie ahead!

Keep your sights set, and happy hunting!

The Ultimate Hog Sniper

Last night, Guide Capt Clayton, also known as Guide Peanut Protector, led this customer on our first Hog Hunt of March for Pig Problem and it was one for the books! They found Pigs in the first field they entered and were lucky enough to drop 4 of them with only one guy shooting. It goes to show that you don't need a large group to handle these Pesky Hogs - you just need someone like Jeff.

Jeff, a surgeon by day, proved to be a Nightmare for the Wild Hogs at night. His precision and skill on the Hunt was unmatched, leaving the Wild Pigs trembling in fear. Thanks to Jeff, the rest of the night was quiet as no more Hogs were spotted, becasue all the Wild Hogs were scared of him.

Reflecting on the night, Guide Capt Clayton acknowledged the unique talent that Jeff brought to the Hunt. He humbly shared, "It’s a blessing and a curse being this good." Here's to many more Successful Hunts and Jeff continuing to be a force to be reckoned with in the World of Hog Hunting.

Hunting Wild Hogs

This was the second night of their 2 Night Hog Hunting Package. They successfully took down 2 Pigs at the first field and then continued driving around in search of more Wild Pigs. Although they had another opportunity to shoot later in the night, they were unable to bring them down. Hogs are known for their toughness, thanks to their thick skin, which allows them to withstand a considerable amount of punishment and quickly recover. Sometimes, after being shot at, Wild Hogs may even pretend to be dead for a short period before getting back up and fleeing to safety. Hog Hunting is a challenging endeavor, but once you Master the Techniques of Hunting Wild Hogs, you will become a Skilled Hunter. Don't miss out on the unique experience of booking a Thermal Hog Hunt today.

Fun Hog Hunting

Steve and Tom, a Father and Son Huntingduo from Wisconsin, recently joined us in Georgia for their first-ever Hog Hunt with Pig Problem - and Guide Luke (Hank) said they were phenomenal. These guys had a natural talent for stalking, remaining incredibly stealthy throughout the entire experience.

During the Hunt, they managed to confirm one kill from a Sounder in the second field of the night. Shortly after, we encountered another group of Pigs in a different field. Steve and Tom took their shots, but unfortunately, those resilient Wild Hogs managed to absorb the bullets and made a run for it, seeking their own demise in the safety of the nearby trees.

However, we didn't let that discourage us. Our last attempt proved to be successful as we executed a flawless stalk on the final field we visited. But just as we got close, the Wild Pigs decided to wander off, denying us the opportunity for a clean shot. Despite this setback, Steve lightened the mood with his brilliant sense of humor throughout the entire night. I haven't laughed that hard in ages.

Guid Luke hopes to have the pleasure of Hunting with Steve and Tom again in the future. They were not just Great Hunters but also great company. Book a Hog Hunt with us today!
