Hunting isn’t easy, and this Hog Hunt was no exception. The night was long, and the Hogs weren’t making it simple. But Clayton put in the work, covering ground, scanning fields, and adjusting tactics to get them on Pigs.

Finally, after hours of persistence, at 6 AM, their patience paid off - they took down a Wild Hog. That’s the thrill of the Wild Hunt. It’s not supposed to be easy. That’s what makes it worth it.

Testing the Waters with Pig Problem:

A Four-Night Thermal Hog Hunt Recap

Guided by Clayton, three Seasoned Hog Hunters joined Pig Problem for a 4-Night Thermal Hog Hunt in South Georgia. These guys were no strangers to Night Hunting - they had been Hog Hunting with another Hunting Outfitter for years, but with their usual guide retiring, they decided to give Pig Problem a shot. They were used to putting down double-digit numbers of Hogs each night, which is a rare feat, not because of a lack of Pigs, but because most Hunters don’t capitalize on the opportunities when a field is full of them.

Night 1:

A Sounder and a Start

The Hog Hunt kicked off with high expectations. The group encountered a Sounder of Hogs early on, taking shots and managing to drop one Wild Pig. It wasn’t the massive numbers they were used to, but it was a start. The guys were getting a feel for the setup, Clayton’s guiding style, and the way Pig Problem Hunts.

Night 2:

A Mechanical Mishap and Midnight Repairs

Things got interesting on the second night, and not just because of the Wild Hog Hunting. Earlier that day, the Hunting Van had a tire rotation, but whoever worked on it forgot to tighten the lug nuts properly. By 2:30 AM, Clayton realized the van was wobbling badly, making it unsafe to drive. Luckily, Megan, our go-to assistant/manager/problem-solver, came to the rescue. She rolled in with a jack and all the tools needed to tighten everything up, saving Clayton from a roadside disaster.

After the unexpected pit stop, the guys got back to Thermal Hog Hunting around 3:30 AM and managed to take down two more Piggies before sunrise.

Night 3:

Precision Stalks Pay Off

The third night was all about stealth and accuracy. They went on two separate stalks, each time finding a Single Hog, and each time dropping it clean. Some nights aren’t about chasing massive sounders it’s about making every shot count. Two pigs down, zero wasted opportunities.

Night 4:

The Fog Takes Over

The final night was a test of patience, but not because of the pigs. Thick fog rolled in, making Thermal Equipment nearly useless. Clayton said he couldn’t see more than 50 yards in front of him - even the Hog Hunting Van, parked just 100 yards away, disappeared in the haze. At 1:30 AM, with visibility still next to nothing, they called it a night.

Did They Like Pig Problem?

Despite a slow first night and a fogged-out final night, the hunters got 5 Wild Hogs Down in three nights, dealt with a wild van situation, and got a full taste of what Hunting with Pig Problem is all about. It’s never just about numbers - it’s about adapting, making the most of every opportunity, and having a damn good time doing it.

So, did these guys like Pig Problem Inc enough to make it their new go-to Hog Hunting Outfitter? We sure hope so. But as always, the pigs will be here, the fields will be ready, and Clayton will be out there waiting for the next crew to take on the challenge.

That’s about as high a compliment as you’ll get from him. And it was well-earned.

Over two nights, the team dropped five Wild Hogs. The wind was a problem, shifting when it wasn’t supposed to, costing them some opportunities. But that’s Hog Hunting - adapt or go home. These guys stayed on point, made their shots count, and got it done.

Recently, Guide Capt Clayton embarked on a 2 Night Hog Hunt with a duo of thrill-seeking Hunters, and we're excited to share the highlights of their Hunting Adventure.

Night One: Success in the Shadows

The first night of their Hog Hunt started with a bang as Guide Clayton led the way to their first quarry. The night air was filled with the sound of Pigs Rooting through the old corn, and the Hog Hunters were determined to take them down. With precision and skill, they managed to bag two impressive Wild Hogs, a testament to their training and Guide Clayton's expertise.

A successful night is always a cause for celebration, but little did we know that the real fun was yet to come.

Night Two: Explosions and Adventure

Night two brought its own unique brand of excitement as Guide Clayton took the Predator Hunters on a thrilling tour of the South Georgia Wilderness. While on the Hunt for Hogs, they stumbled upon a group of about 8 Wild Pigs, with only one being taken down. However, the real showstoppers were the Rabbits. Guide Clayton's email revealed a different kind of "game," with explosions that left the hunters in awe.

The evening was filled with laughter and excitement as the hunters took turns Thermal Hunting Rabbits, creating an Unforgettable Hunting Experience. Ed even let Guide Clayton take a shot with his 10mm, showcasing its impressive firepower. Amidst the chaos, Guide Clayton also managed Hunting Raccoon taking him out, solidifying his reputation as a force to be reckoned with.

A Post-Hunt Celebration

As the night drew to a close, Guide Clayton settled in back at his house with a well-deserved drink—specifically a "Psychedelic Rabbit" beer. Amidst the quiet of his morning routine, he was accompanied by his feline friend, Meow Meow. The relaxed atmosphere was a far cry from the adrenaline-fueled excitement of the previous night, but it's moments like these that remind us why we love what we do.

Recently, a group of four eager Hunters joined Guide Hank for a 1 Night Hog Hunt that showcased the thrill of the chase, even when the night unfolded a bit differently than expected.

A Slow Start Turns Into Success

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the team set off to a field in Albany Ga, their hearts filled with anticipation. The atmosphere was electrifying, yet the Hunting conditions proved to be a bit slow that night. However, the group remained undeterred and focused on the task at hand.

After a patient wait, their perseverance paid off when they spotted 3 Pigs. With adrenaline pumping, the team sprang into action. In an impressive display of marksmanship, one Hog Hunter successfully took down a Wild Pig on the run from a remarkable distance of 200 yards. The satisfaction of securing that first catch set the tone for the rest of the night.

Another Hog fell shortly thereafter, with the team locating it in the woods, bringing their count to two before midnight. The sense of accomplishment among the Boar Hunters was palpable as they celebrated their success, emphasizing that even in the slow moments, there are reasons to be joyful.

After midnight, as they resumed their search, the night remained quiet. While the team didn’t encounter any additional Wild Hogs as they made their way back to Americus Ga, the camaraderie amongst the group never waned. They reminisced about the shots fired, shared techniques, and laughed over the unpredictability of Wild Hog Hunting.

The lesson learned was clear: in the world of Thermal Hunting, sometimes progress is measured not by how many Hogs are taken but by the experiences shared and the memories created. A “slow” night didn’t mean a “bad” night. Instead, it reinforced the old adage that a great time can be had when you’re outdoors with friends, regardless of the outcome.

Recently at Pig Problem, the excitement was palpable as Guide Hank and Guide Clayton welcomed back a spirited group of Amish Hunters for a thrilling 2 Night Hog Hunt. This dynamic duo brought their unique styles together, crafting an incredible experience filled with laughter, camaraderie, and some Unforgettable Hunting moments.

Night 1:

On the first night, Guide Capt. Clayton enjoyed the warm company of the Amish Hunting Group, who returned partly due to Clay’s undeniable charm! With everyone eager to hit the fields, they set out on a quest for Wild Hogs. The evening started off with a Solo Hog—a single Dad Boar Hog with his little ones in tow. Despite the team’s best efforts, they could only manage to drop The Father Hog after what seemed like an eternity—eight rounds later, they finally brought him down.

While the first part of the night presented its challenges, fortunes turned with the successful takedown of a Coyote lurking around 200 yards away, ending the evening on a high note.

Meanwhile, Guide Hank embarked on his segment of the Thermal Hog Hunt. After checking a few fields, he spotted a Sounder of Hogs and quickly rallied his group for a strategic stalk. However, a surprise distraction ensued when some leftover New Year’s fireworks sparked excitement in the air, startling the Pigs and sending them into hiding.

Not to be outdone, Guide Hank recalibrated his approach, returning to the same field where he had initially spotted the Sounder. Patience paid off when he spotted two Wild Pigs at the back. With teamwork and precision, they managed to drop both Hogs—a moment of pure triumph echoing through the group.

Night 2:

A Unified Group Experience

For the second night, Guides Hank and Clayton made the brilliant decision to merge their groups, allowing everyone to Hog Hunt together as one cohesive family unit. In an exhilarating Night of Hunting, Guide Captian Guide Captian Clayton led a team on their quest for Wild Pigs, showcasing the thrill and challenges of Hog Hunting. The evening began with an early start, where the Hunters quickly got on the trail of their quarry. After a long and strategic stalk, it became evident that the Pigs were aware of their presence and made their way into the trees.

As the night continued, the team’s perseverance paid off. Around 1 a.m., they spotted another group of Wild Hogs, leading to a successful culmination of their Hog Hunt. In a display of skill and teamwork, they managed to take down three Hogs before the night's excitement wound down. Despite their efforts, no additional Pigs were sighted for the remainder of the night, and the Hog Hunters decided to wrap things up at 2 a.m.
